At 4:30 in the afternoon my husband had a blood glucose test after a 21 hour fast and working all day in construction, it was 6.2. Does this indicate he is diabetic?
Didn't your doctor explain the results? If not, I think you better get a experts opinion.
That said, here's my non-expert opinion; its a bit high considering but not diabetic high. I expect a normal fasting result to be more like a 4 or low 5 but if it was diabetes then it would be much higher. Possibly indicates pre-diabetes or diabetes that has been caught early. I think you should ask for a GTT to be sure as you can't really diagnose off a fasting test.

If this helps at all, I remember a few months ago for about a week I constantly had nightmares and woke up gasping for air. In my dreams I'd be unable to breathe, I told my friends and they said it could be sleep apnea but it doesn't happen anymore.
So like what happens if you don't sleep with whatever that oxygen mask is in that picture, and how do you know you have it if you don't snore? The signs/symptoms of obstructive (which I think is snoring), and complex, and central.

In general, a patient with sleep apnea doesn't know when he stops breathing in sleep or when he wakes up. That's the problem when you try to diagnose sleep apnea: if you don't have other person to watch your sleep, then you can wake up 1000 time and you don't know about it.
However, if you are very tired during the day, every day, then this is a real symptom of sleep apnea.

At a time of dramatic increases in the prevalence of obesity, it is appropriate that Type 2 diabetes has received a great deal of attention by the endocrinology community. Clearly, the management of insulin resistance and cardiovascular risk is a critical issue. However, it is important to also acknowledge and address Type 1 diabetes, whose prevalence is also increasing, and whose management remains complex. Currently it is estimated that 10-15% of those with diabetes carry the diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes, and frequently the diagnosis is not straightforward, as many clinicians recognize that more adults previously thought to have Type 2 diabetes actually have late-onset Type 1 diabetes (also termed latent autoimmune diabetes of the adult or LADA). Over the last decade tools for the management of Type 1 diabetes have also evolved; therefore, clinicians now have the opportunity to more closely replicate normal physiologic insulin secretion with either basal-bolus insulin therapy or continuous subcutaneous insulin infusions. While these advancements allow clinicians to manage patients with Type 1 diabetes better, they also add complexity to patient treatment. An updated text to address the concepts behind the recognition of new onset Type 1 diabetes in adults, the ongoing care of adults with established Type 1 diabetes, and future potential therapies and devices is warranted to review these issues for both endocrinologists and primary care providers with an interest in diabetes. Hi all, I have recently bought a Pulse Oximeter for my volunteering work and was wondering if any medical professionals could tell me if the "normal" SpO2 rates for adults ( > 95% etc ) are the same for pediatric patients or if they vary with age. If they do vary with age could someone tell me what the "normal" values are so I can make a note of them.

It's the same of all patients. SpO2 should be above 93% really, below that you should be worried. Most people will be around the 97 - 99 % mark in healthy, ordinary individuals. Be them 1 year old or 100 years old.
SpO2, or oxygen saturation, is the amount of oxygen carried by haemoglobin in the blood. It is unaffected by age.

Well. There are several ways to approach this. You could try contacting the Make-A-Wish foundation. You can tell them your story, most likely by sending it to them via letter or email. They might even have a phone number. They give ill individuals a chance to have their greatest wish despite their illness. You could also try writing a letter or emailing the record company, I don't know how well this would work. It may work well. I can't promise a visit from the band, but perhaps a letter or a picture with all of their signitures on it. You could also try contacting Disney about it. There are many ways, these are just a few. I have to do a paper for school on genetic disorders, so I picked diabetes since my family has a history of it.
But, I don't know what type of diabetes I should do it on.

Can doctors tell the difference between heroin and suboxen on a drug test?
I have been doing heroin for the past year. I have been clean for about a month, I used suboxens to get off, but have relapsed. I am being drug tested tomorrow. Can i blame it on the suboxen? Can they tell the difference or do they both show up as opiates? This is a urine test.
Without all the judgement you tend to get for asking questions like this the answer is "no" you can't blame it on suboxone. Suboxone like methadone is a different variety of morphine and takes a very specialized test to identify. Unless your probation office is ahead of the curve they probably don't even have this test available. If you have used heroin again you'll have to face up to it. Unless your PO or whatever is a dummy and doesn't know this fact, but that is unlikely. Your best bet if this is a probation type thing, is to be honest and tell them that you got clean a month ago, but you blew it in the past couple of days. If you are honest and don't try to lie to them like they are stupid and level with them like men, they will probably surprise you. Good Luck, it's a tough road to hoe but you'll make it.
