First of all I used an automatic wrist blood pressure monitor, are these accurate?
Second of all I did go to the gym about an hour prior, but only did light activity on the treadmill. I am worried about my pulse, isn't it too high especially considering the low blood pressure?
AND Could the high pulse be compensating for the low BP?
Pulse rate is above normal. (Normal: 60-100 beats per minute).

So this thing has been sitting around for a couple of years. I used to horse around with an old Speed Graphic 4x5, but found the movements limiting. So I bought a used Calument and was having a blast, until the lens seized up. I've looked around at there is a staggering number of lenses for this format, and the price range is incredible. I'm looking for something equivalent to a 40-50mm in 35mm, "normal" to moderate telephoto. And while I recognize some of the names (Nikkor, that rings a bell!) names like Rodenstock leave me scratching my head. Can someone recommend a moderately priced lens that would fit my Calument C400 lensboard?

Has anyone found the One Touch ultra mini blood sugar testing meter to be inaccurate?
I have had this meter for about a year and it seems to be very inaccurate, for instance I have tried to test its accuracy a couple of times and I tested it on a finger on my left hand and it said 102 and then I tested it on my right hand my sugar was 137, has anyone else had problems with this meter? It also seems like its kind of a cheaply made meter. Does anybody recommend a different model? I'm a 21yr old female.
I hated this meter myself. I keep getting really weird readings. I finally talked a non-diabetic person into taking a reading...well her reading was in the 300's, and this was 3 hours after eating a light salad. We know for a fact she doesn't have diabetes. Needless to say, I tossed that meter. I switched to the precision Xtra and love it. I did keep the one touch lancet because I liked it better then the precision lancet.

What is Blood Pressure?
Blood is carried from the heart to all parts of your body in vessels called arteries. Blood pressure is the force of the blood pushing against the walls of the arteries. Each time the heart beats (about 60-70 times a minute at rest), it pumps out blood into the arteries. Your blood pressure is at its highest when the heart beats, pumping the blood. This is called systolic pressure. When the heart is at rest, between beats, your blood pressure falls. This is the diastolic pressure.
What is high blood pressure?
A blood pressure of 140/90 or higher is considered high blood pressure. Both numbers are important. If one or both numbers are usually high, you have high blood pressure.
High blood pressure is dangerous because it causes the heart to work extra hard. This strain contributes to heart attacks and stroke. When the heart is forced to work extra hard for an extended period of time, it tends to enlarge. A slightly enlarged heart can function well, but a significantly enlarged heart cannot. High blood pressure also causes damage to the arteries, causing arterial disease.

I bought an at home omron blood pressure monitor and my readings vary from about 155/80 to 140/76. The cuff tightens my arm to the point that it hurts and leaves red marks all over it. Do I need a bigger cuff or is the tightness normal? Also how many points can my blood pressure drop with a cuff my size?
Take the cuff to your pharmacist to have it calibrated first. Then go to your doctor and have him take your BP the normal way and then use your cuff so you can compare. Your doctor can also evaluate your cuff to see if perhaps the size is an issue, because it can throw the readings off if your arm is quite large.
Sometimes high blood pressure makes the cuff feel REALLY tight. Your readings are high enough to warrant medication so you need to sort out whether or not your home cuff is working properly, the cuff is the correct size, and what your benchmarked BP is at the doctor's office.
Tip: when taking your blood pressure, don't talk - just sit and relax.
