Diabetic. How to check blood glucose without pricking your finger?
My mom is diabetic, but she doesn't like pricking her finger to check her blood glucose, so she never checks it. I've seen commercials for a device for diabetics that is easy to use and doesn't require a lancet. Anybody know what it's called?
I'm sorry to hear that your mom finds it difficult to test blood from pricking her fingers. Maybe she'd feel happier about testing other areas. She can test using her ears, or her forearms.
Here are a couple of reports that speak of such a non-invasice device though I'm not sure whether they're commercially available yet, though I'd be very surprised if they weren't, or how successful and accurate they happen to be.
Please advise your mom that she's lining herself up for all sorts of complications if she doesn't 'bite the bullet' and test her blood sugar levels. I know. I speak from experience.
Are you aware that you should test yourself, too? Because you have a close relative with diabetes, you are at increased risk of developing it. This doesn't mean that you will develop it ... just that your chances of developing it are increased.
I wish both yourself and your mom the very best of luck in coming to terms with the importance of checking blood sugar levels.

Written as a companion text to Dr Hesselson`s first book about pacing, Simplified Interpretation of ICD Electrograms focuses on teaching an understanding of the electrogram (EGM) signal for troubleshooting ICD rhythms. The book includes an in depth review of the general function of an ICD (defilbrillation electronics, arrthythmia detection/therapy), as well as an extended summary of the commonly encountered arrthythmia in an EGM and ECG format. Throughout the book, Dr Hesselson emphasizes that the key for troubleshooting these devices lies in the ability to make the transition from surfaceECG to EGM interpretation. Also included is an extensive chapter on biventricular pacing, particularly as it relates to its function in an ICD. The book ends with 50 clinical case studies designed to illustrate the text`s key principles. No one has attempted previously to explain the EGM signal in such a pedagogical style, and no significant amount of material has been formally published detailing methods for troubleshooting biventricular ICD pacing systems. * Expert guidance on understanding the EGM signal for troubleshooting ICD rthythms. * Includes 50 clinical case studies. * Covers all aspects of the general function of ICDs. * Contains an extensive chapter on biventricular pacing.

How can one lower super high blood pressure quickly?
My mom has really high blood pressure, the top number is 195, that's scary high and she feels awful. She can't go to the doctor yet but she will soon. For now, how can she lower blood pressure naturally? Dad is making her something with garlic and lemon juice and I told her to drink green tea because I know that can lower blood pressure. What else? Any exercises?
Yeah, nvm, we just called 911.. thanks anyways.
This could be a sign of kidney problems among other things. If she drinks soft drinks she should discontinue drinking them completely.
